A Living Church

Viewing this scripture,
the rising of our faith
from that one upper room
to the ends of the earth

With the words used, the tasks, the work
the disciplines used, showing their faith
in their covenant with God
His example lived out
being Christ's messengers
starting in that place

A living church, in the other words,
adjectives, adverbs, the motion
with joy, with wonder, and in awe
hearts alive, burning with the fire

Spirit-filled, moments of joy
pouring out, from their hearts
bursting, burgeoning
the church living, devoted
one community, one body
moving together
out into the world
