Ruth's Biography:
I joined this community of poets in August 2005 and I must say it's been a
most cherishing experience. I love to read poetry of other poets on this website
and thank Jerry for the time and love he puts into this website. I hope it
continues for many years to come!
I began my life in a small rural community in the Sioux City, Iowa area. I not
only grew up with my parents, my brother Daniel, but my grandparents, aunts,
uncles, cousins grew up in the same town. I have many cherished memories of fun
and love. Everyone who has ever lived in a small town (under 500) knows that
everyone who is not related are best of friends! I would never trade the
experiences of growing up with cousins and friends over living in a big city & knowing not even the people who live next door.
My husband and I were both baptized in a Pentecostal church early July 2005 and I praise God not only for anointing me with my special gift of writing poetry.
It is now end of the year of 2008...and as we get closer to the Harvest I continue to receive daily (sometimes 2 or 3) anointings for poetry...My husband has been very ill the last year...spent December 2007 through mid June 2008 in hospitals and nursing homes, is now at home in a hospital bed. He went into a coma in June 2008 for 9 days and in his visions near death three times during those 9 days, Lord kept telling him (he would see a picture of Jesus each time) your room is not ready yet, you need to go back to living! I praise the Lord for sending Jim back to me as I see he also is to be a vessel for the Lord as I am through my poetry. We continue to praise God not only for what is going right in our lives BUT especially for things that seem not to be so right! We are going to a new church here in our town...and have been so uplifted!!!
