Spurgeon, speaking on a young man's vision in a sermon delivered on April 16, 1868, said, "The power of prayer can never be overrated. They who cannot serve God by preaching, need not regret it if they can be mighty in prayer. The true strength of the church lies there. This is the sinew, which moves the arm of omnipotence. If a man can but pray, he can do anything. He that knows how to overcome the Lord in prayer, has heaven and earth at his disposal. There is nothing, man, which thou canst not accomplish if thou canst but prevail with God in prayer."
Likewise, powerful praise births victory. In 2 Chr. 20:15-22 there is a great lesson on the power of praise. Judah was confronted by mortal enemies, Moab and Ammon. The people sought God in prayer and with faith in His Word (20:1-14). Then came the word of the prophet: "Do not be afraid, for the battle is not yours, but God's" (v. 15). The victory came in a strange but powerful manner. The Levites stood and praised "the Lord God of Israel with voices loud and high" (v. 19). Then some were actually appointed to sing to the Lord and praise Him in the beauty of holiness. These went before the army, saying: "Praise the Lord, for His mercy endures [lasts] forever" (v. 21). The result of this powerful praise was total victory!
In order for us to be victorious Christians, prayer and praise must be a vital part of our lives. We, at Cross Way, sometimes recieve prayer requests from our visitors that need to be lifted before the throne of God. If you would like to be a part of our prayer team and join with as we petition our Lord with these requsets
I have included a link below that will allow you to join. When a prayer request is submitted I will email it to you so that you may bring it before the Lord in your prayer time.
Thank you for your consideration in this matter.
